About the Role
Operations x Project Management x Leadership x Agriculture

An excellent opportunity for someone with a true passion for and experience in managing complex projects. Within this role, you can significantly impact project satisfaction across internal and external stakeholders, timely delivery of projects with excellence, and continuous improvement of our Operational KPIs. You would directly contribute to tackling climate change through sustainable agriculture.
As InPlanets Head of ERW (Enhanced Rock Weathering) projects you will be managing the overall strategy concerning the implementation and execution of our projects, with a strong focus from the moment the rock powder leaves the mine until it is spread properly onto the soil. This includes overseeing a robust and high-quality supply of rock powder, facilitating transport, spreading logistics, and supporting the timely and well-managed monitoring activities at the farm level.

Working Relationships

To make this all happen, you will manage an important part of our established and ambitious operations team, more specifically our supply & quality (MRV Rocks & Minerals), our Project Manager and Junior Project Leads as well as our GIS modeler who facilitates project operations remotely via mapping (& Geographic Information System). Most members of your team would have a genuine passion, expertise, and tertiary education (from BSc to PhD) in agronomy or a related field. Key Responsibilities
Initial Priorities

Your main challenge initially will be around transport and spreading logistics for farmers. You will be responsible for finding solutions to realize the transport of large amounts of rock powder in a fast and cost-efficient way. In addition, you will guarantee that transport, sampling, and spreading are prompt and that all project participants are well-aligned. You will have to negotiate with third parties and improve InPlanet’s offer and overall attractiveness towards mines and farmers by building a network of operational partners for transport, spreading and sampling. Having created a clear strategy around our project logistics you will be responsible for increasing the team capacity as we scale.

Daily Operations

You will be responsible for keeping the daily operations running smoothly. This means that at times you will navigate through stormy waters, respond to escalations, and resolve operational issues with professional conduct, problem-solving, and a positive attitude. You will report directly to the COO and significantly contribute to our overall operations strategy in Brazil. You will stay on top of our project related KPIs and enable data-driven improvements of our ERW operations, always with the goal of driving overall excellence of our projects. You are required to steadily improve our project management tools and make sure processes, decision-making and project data are well-documented and complete so they can be shared with our science and carbon teams to enable reliable calculation of ERW carbon removal credits.

  • Prior experience in a fast-growth environment, preferably in a leadership position
  • Exceptional project management and effective and inspiring people management skills
  • Prior experience in agriculture and/or logistics and/or mining
  • Experience in setting up a strategy and working with company goals
  • Experience in operational reporting via key performance indicators
  • Strong knowledge about operations and management in general
  • If you can bring a network to facilitate our project logistics that is a big plus
  • Prior experience with carbon credits and carbon markets is a plus
  • Prior knowledge about remineralizers in tropical agriculture is a big plus
  • Prior expertise in setting up and accompanying agronomic trials on the field level is a plus

  • Strong communication skills in Portuguese and advanced English
